First song on the ipod this morning: 'Beat Surrender' by The Jam.

Last Nights Dinner: Shepherds Pie (As per Tamasin Day-Lewis). It was good, even though it took 2 hours to prepare and cook, which was my evening 'eaten-up'. It could have done with a bit of gravy over the top and some peas, but I was so tired I couldn't be bothered.

Monday, 13 November 2006

First song on the ipod this morning: 'Billie Jean' by Ian Brown. Superb cover of Michael Jackson's classic hit.

Last Nights Dinner: Free Range Roast Lamb (Stuffed with garlic, rosemary & anchovies - I think this is taken from one of Jamie Oliver's programmes), Yorkshire Pudding (As per Marie Claire's ' Kitchen'), Roast Potatoes (As per Delia), Mashed Potatoes, Sprouts, Carrots, Broccoli & Gravy (Made with the meat juices, flour, Marsala to de-glaze pan & veg water). Accompanied by mint sauce & pickled cabbage - Try it on your next roast - awesome!

It was quite good, lamb was tender and flavoursome; the broccoli was a little bit crunchy; the Yorkshire puds were delightful! My gravy has never been up to much, and this dinner was no exception. I just can't seem to get the flavour or consistency right. It is always too watery and far too bitter/burnt tasting.

Alcohol Consumed Yesterday: 1 x 440ml Budweiser.

Cigarettes Smoked Yesterday: 12

Today's Breakfast: Pukkolla (As per Jamie Oliver),it was really good! For those of you who don't know this dish then here it is:

8 handfuls of Organic Scottish Porridge Oats.
2 handfuls of Bran - although I use 'All-bran'.
1 handful of chopped Dried Apricots - make sure there don't contain any nasty colourings or preservatives. They shouldn't be bright orange!!!
1 handful of crushed Walnuts.
1 handful of crushed Brazil Nuts.
1 handful of chopped Dates - I use Organic Medjool Dates (Mmm, juicy!)

Once you have mixed these ingredients, you can store them in an air tight container, and use as and when required. To get the best out of this mixture, pour some in a bowl the night before, cover with milk and grate half an apple into the milk/pukkolla mixture (I make two bowls at a time). It really is heavenly, you can feel it doing your insides good.

Elevenses: 1 x Pear, 1 x Nescafe Instant Coffee (I don't know why I bother?).

Lunch: 2 x Organic Cheddar Cheese Sandwiches & Branston Pickle on Organic Multigrain White Bread, 1 x Organic Natural Yogurt, 1 x Organic Banana, 2 x Chocolate Creme Oreo's (Just received from a friend who has just returned from Vegas & Florida).

Dinner Plans: Shepherds Pie ( With all the lamb I have got left over).
